La Pirogue was built in 1976 as one of the first hotels on the west coast of Mauritius. In total, La Pirogue comprises 248 charming rooms in thatched bungalows tucked away in the pleasantly tranquil palm grove, just a few meters from the turquoise sea. Enjoy walking from your bungalow directly into the beautiful garden and along the endless sandy beach.

Premium Garden Bungalow - about 25 m ², located in a spacious tropical garden far from the main building are the semi-detached bungalows. Beach Pavilion - approximately 35 m², in individually designed pavilions just a few meters from the beach, enjoy uninterrupted views of the sea and lagoon. Garden Family Bungalow - approx. 50 m², two Garden Bungalow rooms are connected to provide enough space for the whole family. Maximum 2 adults & 4 children (0-11 years) / 3 teenagers (12-17 years)

Deluxe Beach Family Pavilion- about 70 m², here two pavilion rooms are combined with connecting door. Inside you will find one king size or two double beds and two additional beds. Thus, the rooms offer enough space for the whole family. Maximum 2 adults & 5 children (0-11 years) / 4 teenagers (12-17 years old).

Senior Suite Pavilion - 78 m², experience personalized service in the elegant suites, which impress with views of the beach and the sea. In addition to a king-size bed and double beds, the suite also includes a private beach pavilion with minibar and telephone. Maximum 2 adults.

The gastronomy at La Pirogue promises an exciting journey through the flavors of the world. The six restaurants and three bars will spoil you with international dishes and modern fusion cuisine.

At Wolmar, the main restaurant for breakfast and dinner, you'll find a generous buffet with a selection of worldwide dishes. From Asian to Indian to Mediterranean cuisine, it's all cleverly combined here with Mauritian flavors.

Beachfront Magenta Seafood Restaurant is ideally located for romantic dinners under the thatched pavilions. Here you will enjoy a menu focused on seafood and original fish and grill dishes. Mauritian specialties and local delicacies may be enjoyed at the Coconut Café in a cozy poolside setting.

Located between La Pirogue and its neighboring Sugar Beach hotel, Citronella Café delights with unobstructed views of the sea. Experience the varied Mediterranean and traditional Italian cuisine.

A selection of light dishes awaits you for lunch and dinner at the Le Morne Beach Bar, right next to the beach restaurant. In the evening, you can listen to DJ sets while enjoying a cool drink.

You can look forward to a selection of 60 wines and light meals in the Van Der Stel Wine Bar. At any time of the day you can order tropical cocktails, rum, and numerous other drinks such as beer, liqueurs or juices at the Medine Bar. You can also expect live music and entertainment some evenings of the week.

As a guest of La Pirogue, you also have access to the restaurants of sister Sugar Beach resort.

The hotel's large pool will entice you to swim a few laps - a welcome relief on warmer days.

To ensure that even the hotel's youngest guests are well taken care of, the doors are always open at the Sun Kids Club. Children from two to eleven years old are welcome to participate in numerous activities or to go on a culinary voyage of discovery during barbecues. For 12 to 17-year-olds, the Teens Club is the ideal meeting place for activities, excursions, and outings.

Of course you don't have to miss out on sports while on vacation, and you can work out to your heart's content on the 300 m² air-conditioned gym.

For leisure activities, there are free activities such as glass-bottom boat excursions, stand-up paddling, aqua fitness, laser sailing, pedal boating, kayaking, snorkeling tours, windsurfing, and tennis on the six floodlit courts.

Other water sports activities, such as scuba diving courses (PADI), sport fishing, water skiing, parasailing, catamaran tours, and dolphin-watching tours can also be arranged from the hotel.

In addition, the hotel offers tennis lessons and a golf championship on the 18-hole golf course. A hike in the Black River National Park is another highly recommended sporting activity offered by the hotel.
