Cape Town - Sanbona Wildlife Reserve - Hermanus

The best time to travel to the Cape region is from October to March. Temperatures are pleasantly warm, with an average of 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit and little rainfall. Between June and December, a large number of whales cavort directly off the coast in Hermanus.

Please note that from mid-December to mid-January, there are summer vacations in South Africa, and the trendy coastal resorts are fully booked well in advance.

Once you arrive in Cape Town, a friendly Meet & Greet service will welcome you. After picking up your rental car, your transfer will take you to your first hotel, the Cape Riviera Guesthouse. As you drive past some sites, do you already catch yourself liking the variety? Then Cape Town will impress you in the next few days! After settling in, take some time to explore parts of the city on your own.

Whether on you hike along the natural paths or hop into a cable car, you will see all of Cape Town from high above. At the top, relish magnificent views of Signal Hill, Lion's Head, Robben Island, and the horizon of the deep blue Atlantic Ocean.

In the evening, we recommend a sundowner cruise departing from the Waterfront (optional). Relax and enjoy a refreshing drink at sunset. Around 8 pm, we will return to the Waterfront and enjoy a delicious meal.

The Old Biscuit Mill in the Woodstock district is a secret tip for flea market lovers. Every Saturday, the flea market opens its doors and attracts crowds with its distinctive atmosphere and authentic South African cuisine.

Another option today is a visit to the amusing Monkey Town in Somerset West. The one hour tour takes you through the world of monkeys, and you will learn how these fascinating animals behave. After the tour, enjoy a snack in a restaurant. The drive to Somerset West takes about 45 minutes.

Today we recommend an exploration tour to the V&A Waterfront. Alternatively, you can drive up to Signal Hill and enjoy views of the city.

Another attraction you can book with us is a visit to Cheetah Outreach (optional). Learn all about the endangered big cats, also known as the fastest animals in the world. These beautiful cats need organizations like Cheetah Outreach because it's vital for their survival. This unique experience includes the opportunity to pet the endangered animals and a quick photo with them!

The drive to Sommerset West takes about 45 minutes.

After a hearty breakfast, we recommend exploring the Cape Peninsula today - a must for every visitor to Cape Town. The drive to the world-famous Cape of Good Hope takes you along the spectacular Chapman's Peak Drive. On your way back, make sure to stop at Boulders Beach and visit the adorable penguins. These cute tuxedo birds are especially trusting and like to splash around next to people on warm days.

Today you will experience one of the highlights of your trip: safari & wildlife experiences in the Sanbona Wildlife Reserve. The reserve is in the heart of the Karoo Desert and is about three hours away from Cape Town. It's also the only place in the world where white lions live in the wild! Sanbona is a malaria-free zone and home to the famous Big 5. After moving into your comfortable safari tent, you will meet your rangers, who will take you into the wilderness by land rover.

Look forward to the Big 5, and don't forget your camera because elephants, zebras, and lions will, with a little luck, cross your path! We guarantee exceptional moments in the wilderness.

These whales come from the waters of Antarctica to the Cape to mate, calve, and raise their young.
