Sossus Dune Lodge

Just four kilometers from Sesriem, Sossus Dune Lodge - the first and only lodge in the century-old Namib-Naukluft National Park - offers uninterrupted views of the distant dunes and desert.

Photographers and nature enthusiasts in particular will get their money's worth here, as the backdrop and scenery on offer is unique in its kind. Not far away is the Sesriem Canyon, which was naturally formed by the Tsauchab River over many years.

Thanks to its location in the middle of the park, guests have the exclusive advantage of entering Sossusvlei before sunrise and staying until after sunset to admire the beautiful and spectacular night sky over the Namib. Sossuvlei is home to, among other things, the highest dune in the world, which you should not miss.

Built mainly of wood, sails, and thatch to protect the environment, Sossus Dune Lodge is an attractive Afro-style village.

Comfortable nights are spent in the 25 large chalets, 13 on the left side of the main building and overlooking the dunes, and the other 12 chalets on the right side, overlooking the mountains and Sesriem Canyon. The chalets are connected with higher wooden paths.

In the rooms you'll find mosquito nets, a bathroom with shower and two sinks, as well as toiletries and robes. A safe and exotic African ornaments are also among the room amenities.
