Luang Prabang lovingly reflects the history of Laos. The former capital of the country has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover this charming city with its peaceful inhabitants, numerous cafés, and glimpses of French colonial architecture.
Arrive in Luang Prabang and your guide will meet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. Spend the day as you wish. However, don't miss your 60-minute-long massage at one of the local institutes right at the beginning of your stay.
3 nights at Hotel SATRI HOUSE, Luang Prabang.
Today, a sightseeing tour of the city's most important sights awaits you. Luang Prabang is considered one of the most beautiful cities in Southeast Asia. The city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is surrounded by hills and tropical rainforest, nestled between the two rivers Mekong and Khan. Directly at the confluence is the Vat Xieng Thong Monastery, considered one of the best-preserved monasteries in the country. With its extraordinary architecture, it is definitely worth a visit. You will also visit the two monasteries, Vat Mai and Vat Visoun, which are also admirable due to their special architectural style.
In Luang Prabang, you will be taken to the pier and travel in a traditional longtail boat to the local sacred caves of Pak Ou. Here, two grottoes contain countless Buddha statues of all shapes and sizes. Enjoy the spectacular and unforgettable view over the Mekong River, and the landscape of this region.

An experience worth getting up early for: every morning at 6:00 a.m., at dawn, countless monks dressed in orange robes parade to the crossroads and ask the inhabitants for alms.
Afterwards, you will climb the 325 steps to Mount Phou Si, which towers high above the city and offers a unique view of it and the surrounding landscape. From there, you will visit the National Museum and learn even more about this country. See the magnificent personal belongings of the royal family.
In the afternoon, you will visit the Kuang Si Falls. You will pass many villages, which you can visit to immerse yourself even more in local life. Once at the waterfalls, make the most of your time by hiking through the surrounding forests or taking a dip in the water, as many Laotians do.
Before heading back to your hotel in the evening, we highly recommend a visit to the local night market, where you will fully take in the local atmosphere. Many Laotians sell their typical Asian handicrafts at countless stalls, which make perfect souvenirs. And why not also take this opportunity to sample the local specialities?

Depending on your departure time, you will be transferred to the airport.
If your onward flight is not until the afternoon, you can (optionally) go on an excursion to an elephant village, where you can ride on the pachyderms along the river through the dense rainforest.
