Trip to Salazie

You will be picked up at your hotel between 7:30 and 8 AM. About 12 km north along the Ocean Road, you will find the economic and political heart of the island, St. Denis. Heading further east, you will pass Hindu temples, which are very common in this area due to the widespread presence of Indian people here.

Look forward to visiting a vanilla plantation where you will be shown how fragrant oils are produced. Afterwards, you will drive to the Cirque de Salazie basin, famous for its lush and evergreen vegetation. The journey includes enchanting waterfalls, beautiful gardens, and flowers before you reach your destination at an altitude of about 1000 m. Then, you will arrive in the village of Hell-Bourg, known for its charming Creole houses and traditional architecture - don’t forget your camera! A guided tour will take you through the lush green garden of the 19th-century Folio House. Learn about the way of life from that period.

You will arrive back at your hotel around 5:00 PM.
