Fraser Island Excursion

This sensational tour starts from your Hervey Bay hotel. A buffet lunch is served at Eurong Beach Resort. The national park fees are included, of course. You'll ride in the 4WD bus and enjoy highlights such as Lake McKenzie, Central Station, 75 Miles Beach, Pinnacles, "Maheno" Shipwreck, and Eli Creek. Fraser Island has been a World Heritage Site since 1992. The island was formed by sand from the southwest of Australia, which was blown here and deposited as an island off the coast of the country. At River Head, you will take the ferry to Fraser Island. Once there, you will drive across the island to the east coast. The ride goes past deciduous and eucalyptus trees. On the east coast you will drive past small creeks, where the water of the brooks pours into the sea. At the Eurong Resort you can have lunch at a buffet. Ahead of lunch, you will visit Central Station, the former camp of all forest workers, who made wood there years ago. Then, we will continue to Eli Creek along the 75 Mile Beach. Yes, you are driving right on the beach, for the 75 Mile Beach is an official highway in Australia. Just stick to the 80 km / h speed limit. Whales can be spotted in the sea from the car. In Elli Creek, you can walk through the clear water - so clear that it already seems more than transparent. Here you can let yourself be carried along by the shallow current down to the beach. After that, it's time for another highlight of the tour: Lake McKenzie, where snow-white sand piles up on the bank banks. The lake is the most famous of the approximately 100 lakes on the island. Here you can enjoy a refreshing swim, so don't forget your bathing suit!
