Description

Destination

Europe

Athens - Hydra - Poros - Athens

After landing at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport in Athens, you will meet our local agency and be transferred via private transfer to your accommodation in the heart of the city. Depending on your arrival time, you can use the rest of the day to get a first impression of the city's monuments. Watch the changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of the Parliament building and stroll through the city, passing excavations, monuments, and museums, but also international designer boutiques.

Experience contemporary Athens and let yourself be driven by the joie de vivre of the lively capital: The most famous ancient sites in history, the modern Acropolis Museum, street vendors, and culinary oases are easy to explore on foot. Nevertheless, it is advisable to cover parts of the way with the modern Athens Metro. Almost every station surprises with small museums and exhibitions of ancient findings. Here you will get to know the Athens of yesterday, today, and tomorrow.

Enjoy Greek coffee in the old-established kafenion, premium wines in the city's new wine bars, and culinary delights ranging from souvlaki to star cuisine.

Travel time Athens airport - hotel: approx. 45 minutes / approx. 35 km

1 night with breakfast in Athens, Greece

Today you can organize the day according to your wishes. How about a city tour by bike, for example? Or perhaps you would like to experience the country, the people, and the Greek cuisine? The Museum of Greek Gastronomy surprises with changing exhibitions around the culinary of the country.

We also recommend a visit to the Acropolis Museum, just a few minutes on foot from your hotel. Likewise, the famous old town, Plaka, with its taverns and cafes, and the Kolonaki district with its designer boutiques from all over the world are within easy walking distance.

1 night with breakfast in Athens, Greece

This morning there will be some time to stroll around Athens before it's time to say goodbye around noon. A private transfer will take you to the port of Piraeus, where you will take a hydrofoil to Hydra.

Upon arrival on Hydra, you will again meet a representative of our partner agency and walk the short distance to your hotel.

Travel time hotel Athens - port Hydra: approx. 90 minutes

1 night stay with breakfast in Hydra, Greece

Hydra welcomes you! The city is a contrast to Athens, because it is absolutely car-free. Mules are still used here to transport people and loads. Around the picturesque harbor, the hub of the town, cafes and restaurants invite you to linger. Churches and monasteries, spread all over the island, are waiting for you. Visit the local museum, which illustrates the great importance of the island in past wars.

The island is also perfect for swimming: dare to jump from the cliffs into the crystal clear water and sunbathe on the rocky plateaus or take a water cab that connects the small town with the few beaches.

1 night with breakfast in Hydra, Greece

Enjoy the morning on Hydra. For early risers, a last ride with the water cab to the bathing beach is worthwhile. Or just stroll along the harbor and watch the scenery.

At noon, it is time to say goodbye. The hydrofoil will take you to Poros in about half an hour. A private transfer will take you to the hotel. Relax at the little hotel pool or the hotel beach from the last days. In the evening, we recommend enjoying the panoramic view over the sea with the illuminated town of Poros on the hotel terrace. Within walking distance you will also find traditional taverns on the beach of Askeli, which promise an authentic dining experience.

Travel time Hotel Hydra - Poros port: approx. 60 minutes

1 night breakfast in Poros, Greece

On the picturesque island of Poros, a small bathing bay at the hotel invites you to relax. The island also offers sandy, pebbly beaches, easily accessible on foot, by bike, cab, or water cab - at the end of your trip, everything is about relaxation.

Did you know that Poros consists of two islands - Sferia and Kalavria - separated by a channel and connected by a small bridge? Sferia is much smaller but houses the main town, while Kalavria is the larger part of the island. The south is characterized by numerous bathing bays, which are deserted with a little luck.

1 night with breakfast in Poros, Greece

A week with the most diverse facets of Greece is coming to an end. After a hearty breakfast at your hotel, you will be transferred to the port. By hydrofoil you will reach Piraeus. From here, you will be a short distance away from the airport of Athens. We recommend that you do not choose a flight that leaves Athens before noon in order to guarantee an appropriate boat connection.

Would you like to extend your stay in Athens or in another region? Tell us your wishes and we will put together your dream trip individually.
