Description

In the middle of the Pacific Ocean, about 3,500 km from the mainland of Chile, lies Easter Island with its famous stone figures - the Moais. Carved out of volcanic stone centuries ago, they served as worship figures of the divine ancestors. The hotel explora Rapa Nui awaits you with unusual architecture and a sensational view of the Pacific - far away from any civilization. Easter Island has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1955, and the explora lodge strives to preserve the surrounding culture and nature. You will quickly realize that explora Rapa Nui is not just a hotel; it is a complete experience in perfect harmony and mysticism on the island.

Destination

South America

  1. Chile
  2. Easter Island (Rapa Nui)

As Easter Island is called by its inhabitants, Rapa Nui translates into something like “Big Island.” Did you know that the island is the most remote place on earth? From Chile, it’s about 3,500 km to Rapa Nui, and only about 2,000 km to the east is Pitcairn, the nearest spot on earth. You can feel like Robinson Crusoe here. In the middle of the island lies the Posada de Mike Rapu, not far from Hanga Roa, the only town on Easter Island. The hotel opened in 2007 and was embedded in the landscape with attention to detail. Lots of wood, volcanic rock, and other natural building materials take center stage here. Relax with a pisco sour in hand at the bar with a covered terrace, or indulge in culinary delights in the restaurant after an eventful day. The in-house fruit and vegetable garden provides the freshest ingredients.

The 30 rooms and suites have a fantastic sea view, making you want to explore the surroundings. The architecture was adapted to the landscape and fitted in without problems. The furnishings are exceptionally traditional, allowing local culture to shine through. Start with a freshly brewed cup of coffee in hand and let your surroundings reel you in.

All rooms are stylishly furnished—a comfortable king-size bed guarantees restful nights. Beautiful light sources create a feel-good atmosphere and exudes pure elegance. The predominant colors are orange, green, and beige, giving the room freshness and liveliness.

You can choose between the following room categories:

Varúa Rooms — approx. 32 m². The 26 rooms have a bathroom with Jacuzzi, a comfortable sitting area, and gorgeous panoramic windows overlooking the sea.

Raa Suites — approx. 44 m². The 4 rooms are also luxuriously furnished, but these have even more living space.

Take a few laps in the pool or relive the eventful moments in the spa with a massage or in the Jacuzzi.

Every day you can choose between different excursions. Whether you are a nature or sports enthusiast, there will be something for you. The experiences have the same quality and care level as the hotel's facilities with well-trained guides and drivers who will accompany you on the excursions and take you to the most beautiful places.

The experiences are the icing on the cake and guarantee an unforgettable stay in one of the most remote places in the world. You will learn about the culture and history of the islanders and go hiking, mountain biking, trekking, or on tours to get close to the Moais.

Water excursions are also offered. There are more than 20 excursions that will leave memories with you and your family for a lifetime.
