Arctic night - Stay at the IGLOOTEL

Welcome to your Swedish adventure! Our local partner agency will pick you up at Arvidsjaur Airport and take you to your destination in Pitea. The one hour drive will drive you past the winter paradise of Norrbotten. Every year from November, thousands of ice tons transform into an extraordinary ice hotel.

IGLOOTEL will choose which nights you will stay in the ice rooms and which nights you’ll stay in the warm rooms. If there is a specific day you wish to stay in the ice rooms (e.g., birthday, anniversary, etc.), we will be happy to accept this as a non-binding customer request. A small selection of possible excursions:

• Snowmobile tour: Experience the rush of speed as you race through the thick forests and over the vast frozen lakes.
• Icy buggy ride: Embark on an adrenaline rush ride in a vehicle with a low center of gravity, spikes, and roll bars.
• Dog sledding: The dog sled tour is both a relaxed and exciting adventure through the Lapland landscapes. Enjoy the traditional Scandinavian mode of transport.
• Night ice skating: Try something new during this nighttime excursion. The combination of ice skating and cross-country skiing requires a little practice, so a trained guide will join for the tour. Tonight is the perfect chance to see the northern lights on this unique tour!
• Elks: This family excursion will take you to the Swedish national symbol: majestic elks!
• Snowshoe hike: In a small group, you will embark on a snowy walk around IGLOOTEL. Put on your snowshoes and enjoy the tranquility of the untouched landscape.
• Ice fishing: Try your luck at the traditional ice fishing. You will also visit the region’s museum of their everyday culture, where you will learn more about this tradition.

IGLOOTEL (1 night)

From November until January, thousands of snow and ice tons create the unique IGLOOTEL design.

The ten igloo rooms offer 20 m² each and accommodate up to 60 guests. Decide whether you would like to spend the night in a romantic igloo for two or in a standard igloo for up to six people. Wrapped up in a warm thermal sleeping bag, you will spend an unforgettable night in the Swedish Lapland snow.

Sincere there are no bathrooms in the igloos, you can use the toilets, showers, and changing facilities in the adjacent, heated building wing.

Round off your evening relaxed in the peculiar 60 m² bar. The fully equipped ice bar offers cocktails, beer, and soft drinks served in ice glasses. In two other rooms of the same size, 50 guests can find the perfect spot to unwind on benches with cozy reindeer skins. Alternatively, you can also sit at the ice lounge or by the campfire under the starry sky. As the evening floats with the campfire crackles, relish the surrounding snow and northern lights.

At the wellness area, we promise pure relaxation! Three 40°C whirlpools invite you to relax in the open air. With a little luck, the northern lights might enchant your magical evening. Several saunas and steam baths will complete the relaxation program.

Hotel Pite Havsbad***, Pitea, Sweden (2 nights)

This beautiful hotel nestles on the beach of the same name and is a popular destination for locals and tourists. Guests can enjoy both the water park and wellness facilities. Don’t miss out on the culinary highlights at the hotel’s diverse restaurants. In fifteen minutes, you can reach the city center.

The rooms come equipped with a double bed, sofa, seating area, television, telephone, a bathroom with a tub, and a private balcony.

Services & Notes

• Since the IGLOOTEL is built in the open air from natural materials, the schedule and construction progress depends on the weather. We ask guests for their understanding of any deviations from the plan. Suppose the IGLOOTEL can’t offer overnight accommodation due to the weather conditions. In that case, the guests will instead receive one night in the warm accommodation and reimbursement of the IGLOOTEL accommodation costs. itravel will inform the guests as early as possible about any changes due to the weather conditions. This exception only applies to existing IGLOOTEL reservations and does not include flight reservations, transfer bookings, or transport services booked through IGLOOTEL.

Surcharges

• Single room supplement: 100 EUR

• Surcharge for a romantic IGLOO (occupancy by two people): 100 EUR per person

• Upgrade to a TOP suite at Hotel Pite Havsbad: 250 EUR per person in a double room, 450 EUR per person in a single room (available on request)

• During the IGLOOTEL overnight stay, your room will be reserved for you free of charge.

• Children up to 11 years old receive a 50% discount on the package price. Accommodation in a family room (subject to availability)
