Destination

Oceania & South Pacific

  1. New Zealand
  2. South Island New Zealand

With less than 4000 inhabitants, Kaikoura is home to fishermen, farmers, artists and craftsmen. The town thrives on crab fishing and is still one of the region's largest suppliers. With an unparalleled marine life, Kaikoura quickly became one of the best eco-marine tourism destinations.

The stunning scenery and tranquil rural setting make Kaikoura a popular destination for families and solo travelers. There are numerous activities available in the area throughout the year. These include whale watching, helicopter tours, skiing and dolphin watching.

On the grounds of the lodges you will find a game enclosure with numerous deer and deer. These belong to the owners' farm and some are bred for slaughter. However, most are used for breeding.

At the heart of Hapuku Lodge you will experience an unparalleled passion for good food and drink. All ingredients, such as herbs and vegetables, come from the lodge's garden. Fresh eggs from free-range chickens are also used in the kitchen. Everything you order to eat here is homemade - from jams to ice cream and pasta to peanut butter. You'll also be served an extensive menu of New Zealand's best wines.

During a stay here you will be spoiled for choice of accommodation. Which type you choose is entirely up to you. You can choose between two very spacious suites with breathtaking views or the highlight, the Tree Houses, which are ten meters above the ground.

Tree Houses

The Tree Houses are a unique type of accommodation in New Zealand, located around ten meters above the ground, in the crowns of the Manuka trees. Each of the houses is individually designed and provides you with spectacular views of Kaikoura's beautiful mountain ranges and the surf of the Pacific coastline.

Inside, you'll find contemporary furnishings inspired by the nature all around. From the outside, the treehouses are clad in natural woods and copper shingles. Large windows bring nature right into your bedroom, creating a special atmosphere. The furniture inside has been hand-carved by locals.

In the bathroom, you'll also find heated towels, as well as heated floors, a spa tub, and a rain shower that opens onto the sun terrace. A minibar and tea and coffee making facilities are also included.

Family Tree House - Travelers coming to New Zealand as a family will find the perfect accommodations at the Family Tree House. Spread over two floors, the Upper Branch bedroom and the Lower Branch bedroom below are connected by stairs. In the Upper Branch area you will find the same furnishings and amenities as the One Bedroom Tree House. The Lower Branch area is slightly smaller and has one king size or two twin beds with a rollaway bed for children. Here you will also find a bathroom with shower, but no bathtub and heaters both for towels and in the floor. Also available here are an LCD TV, DVD/CD player, iPod sound system and free WiFi.
