Destination

Africa

  1. Botswana

The exclusive lodge nestles right on the Boteti River, perched on a 25-meter high cliff, promising unique views of the surrounding landscape. The Boteti River is one of the longest in the Okavango Delta, so you can book activities to explore the area during game drives and night safaris. You can also take day trips to Nxai Pan National Park and the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans (depending on the season). You can also book mokoro and motorboat safaris depending on the water level. From May to September, you can see the impressive wildlife migrations of wildebeests and zebras between May and September during the “little migration” hike. Naturally, these migrations also bring many predators so that you can observe interactions between the herds of animals and their hunters with a bit of luck. With the first rain, the animals head north again to the areas around the large salt pans.

The hotel is about two hours from Maun in the western part of Makgadigkadi National Park.

The main building has a thatched roof and offers a lounge with a bar, a dining room, reception, and a souvenir shop. You will find a library and a quiet terrace on the upper floor. After an exciting safari, cool off at the hotel pool or relax on the large sun deck or observation deck. The fire pit is at the water hole, which many wild animals visit throughout the day.

Leroo La Tau means “footsteps of the lion” because they are native to the region. The lodge also offers a “hide” where you can observe the animals up close. The main building has a tunnel that connects to it so that the animals won’t spot you on your way to the hideout. It increases the chances of seeing many animals for long periods.

You can either eat your meals with the rest of the lodge or privately.

The 12 luxurious and spacious chalets come equipped with comfortable double beds and a private bathroom. They overlook the riverbed and watering hole that attracts animals day and night. Large glass sliding doors and a veranda promise a fantastic view of the lodge’s surrounding area.

You can relax in the pool after an exciting day of safari adventures.
