This is a coffee lover’s dream. Together with a local guide, you will visit the small, picturesque village of Nkoaranga. On the slopes of Mount Meru, local small farmers grow organic, fair trade coffee. You will stroll through the coffee farm and then visit a roasting facility where you will watch coffee get roasted, ground, and packed. Of course you are also allowed to taste the coffee here. Do you feel like having more now? In the garden of the Mbise family you can end the eventful morning with a delicious lunch and an aromatic coffee.

Services & Notes

  • Start: approx. 8:30 AM
  • Duration: approx. 2,5 hours (without lunch)
  • This tour is best combined with the Highlights of Northern Tanzania round trip, on day 10 (stay in Arusha).
  • As of 06.01.2019, the use of disposable plastic bags is prohibited in Tanzania and will be punished. The ban will also apply to arriving passengers at airports and land borders, both for common duty free bags and plastic bags in hand or checked luggage.
  • Strict controls must be expected on the entry of hand luggage and luggage. The so-called ziplock bags, which are mainly used for cosmetics, are also subject to this ban. We recommend transparent bags, e.g. with zipper, which are clearly not 'disposable items' but are designed for longer use. The use of plastic bags for purchases in the country is also prohibited.
