Boat trip on the Navua River
Experience a traditional kava ceremony
Watch a Lovo preparation while enjoying a refreshing coconut drink
Come with us into the world of the paradisiacal island worlds of Fiji. Start the day with an exciting boat trip, stop at a Bure for a traditional kava ceremony, watch the preparation of lovo, and immerse yourself in the flair of the South Seas. Before the day ends, enjoy a delicious lunch with Fijian singing and dancing.
From your hotel, you will get a transfer to the adventurous capital of Pacific Harbour. Start your experience here far away from modern life. Cruise along the idyllic Navua River. Along the banks, you will encounter traditional villages, farmland, untouched tropical rainforest, and numerous waterfalls that look like something out of a picture book. The local fauna is not to be underestimated either - particularly the exotic birds can be wonderfully observed on the banks of the river. Upon arrival, a Fijian warrior will accompany you to one of the typical bures that Fiji is known for. Experience a kava ceremony performed for you as a welcome. This sacred ceremony is traditionally only held for important visitors.
After the ceremony, a guide will take you to the traditional village next door. Learn interesting facts about life in the village - meet children in front of the kindergarten and experience a sugar-sweet children's choir. Afterwards, the guide will take you to the women of the village, who will tell you more about the traditional masi. This is the traditional Fijian skirt made from the mulberry tree. You will be served a fresh coconut drink while observing the women make the masi. Afterwards, you will have the opportunity to watch the making of loo - the traditional way of preparing food - underground.
At the end of the day you will return to the initial bure, where you can enjoy a delicious lunch. Meanwhile, you will be treated to a traditional entertainment programme. Traditional songs and dances are on the programme. If you wish, you can buy your first Fijian souvenirs here. The proceeds go to the inhabitants of the village.
After the delicious refreshment, you will go by boat to the largest waterfall in Navua. Pack your swimwear, because you can jump into the cool water here before returning to your hotel by transfer.
