Description

A boat trip to the Ballestas Islands is an amazing experience for all ages. Countless birds, pelicans, and penguins call this place home. The sea lions are particularly enchanting. Take out your camera and capture these animal encounters for eternity!

Destination

South America

  1. Peru

Today is dedicated to the Ballestas Islands. In the morning, you will be picked up at your hotel and brought to the pier of Paracas. A speedboat will be waiting for you there to take you to the Ballestas Islands.

What’s so special about the Ballestas Islands, anyway? Located off the coast of Peru, the rocky islands offer a particularly rich biodiversity: About 200 species of birds, such as seagulls, pelicans, penguins, and even sea lions live here in their natural habitat.

Since the Ballestas Islands are a protected area, the animals may only be observed from the boat. We therefore recommend that you take binoculars with you. Listen to the sounds of nature and keep your camera ready!
