Destination

  1. Sweden

Located in Harads, near the Lule river, Treehotel resides in a village with about 600 people and features a restaurant, boutique shop, and a guest house. When you arrive, you will check-in at Britta’s Pensionat, then shortly stroll through the beautiful nature to your treehouse. The forest brings you closer to your natural surroundings and devours you into a surreal experience that you wouldn’t expect from the outside.

The hotel is about 60 kilometers away from Lulea Airport and about 40 kilometers upstream from Boden. The northern hotel is also only 60 kilometers from the Arctic Circle!

At Treehotel in Harads, you will have an unforgettable experience that starts with a friendly reception at Britta’s Pensionat before they guide you to your treehouse. Each treehouse is a unique creation by Scandinavia’s leading architects, and the modern design combined with the quiet forest creates an instant feeling of luxurious relaxation.

Treehotel is a unique hotel experience: rooms with a modern design in the middle of untouched nature. Forget about reality and relax in a new environment. The owners emphasize sustainability throughout all of the accommodations, therefore keeping guests’ impact on the environment at a minimum.

The hotel has a restaurant, bar, sauna, relaxation area, TV, and internet connection. Cozy sofas and harmonious decor will make you feel at home.

The seven tree rooms nestle in the tall pine forest and boast incomparable views of the Lule River. They suspend about four to six meters above the ground and are accessible by ramp, bridge, or electric stairs. Designed by Scandinavia’s best architects, the combination of modern design and the quiet forest environment invites you to feel the luxury of relaxation quickly.

Each room is unique — the focus is not only on the exterior but also on the interior’s exclusive furniture, light effects, and materials. Between 16 and 100 m², each room comes equipped with environmentally friendly compost toilets and water-saving washbasins. The underfloor heating system provides pleasant warmth for the colder days. There is also free WiFi, a small fridge, and a kettle.

Showers are available in the sauna buildings.

The Mirrorcube (approx. 16 m²) - The trees camouflage this unique hide-out, and its mirrored walls reflect their surroundings. The base consists of an aluminum frame around the tree trunk, reflective glass covers the walls, and plywood creates a cozy interior. The six windows provide a stunning panoramic view, and the 12-meter-long bridge leads up to the treehouse and its beautiful terrace. Maximum 2 adults.

The Birds Nest (approx. 17 m²) - Built on the contrasts between the outside and inside, the tree room’s exterior is nothing but a gigantic bird’s nest. Its camouflage-style makes the treehouse disappear and become part of its surroundings. The interior is a familiar and exclusive look, with a spacious environment where a family with two children can comfortably spread out. The walls are clad with wood panels, and the windows almost disappear in the exterior’s network of branches. The room has separate bedrooms, toilets, and a living area. Maximum 4 adults or 2 adults + 2 children.

The Blue Cone (approx 22 m²) - Based on simplicity and accessibility in terms of material and design, this tree room is a traditional wooden structure with three foundations in the ground to give a sense of height, lightness, and stability. Access to the treehouse is via a bridge from the nearby mountain. From here, you’ll see the laminated birchwood exterior and timber interior. This room has four beds, a separate sleeping loft, toilets, and a living room. It’s also accessible for people with disabilities. Maximum 4 adults or 2 adults + 2 children.

The Cabin (approx. 24 m²) - Enter this capsule-like treehouse from a high platform above the steep, sloping hills. Stroll over its private bridge until you reach the hut that’s high in the treetops. This capsule-like accommodation offers a double bed, a small bathroom, and a rooftop terrace. Maximum 2 adults.

The UFO (approx. 30 m²) - The room is cast in durable composite material to create the lightest yet reliable and sustainable design possible. The interior gives the room a modern and comfortable feel, including a double bed, three single beds, a living room, and a small bathroom. Maximum 2 adults + 3 children.

The Dragonfly (approx. 55m²) - Unique in many ways, this room can function both as a conference space, as well as a private suite. The 15-meter-long ramp takes you to the tree room’s panoramic windows that give you a magnificent view of the valley. Wood and sheet metal make up the exterior, giving it a rust-brown blend that camouflages it with the pine-tree forest. Maximum 4 adults or 2 adults + 2 children.

The Seventh Room (approx. 100 m²) - A life-sized photograph of the treetops covers the entire building's entire underside as they looked before the room was put in place. Climb higher up the stairs until you reach the massive, lush, Lapland treetops. Large panoramic windows face north, boasting breathtaking views of the Lule River, along with skylights in the bedrooms, allowing guests to watch the magnificent Northern Lights. The patio has a natural pine growing through the net, where the branches can spread out to create a new place to climb and relax. It consists of two separate bedrooms, two double beds, a bed sofa, a lounge, toilets, and a bathroom with a shower. Maximum 5 adults or 2 adults and 3 children.

Combine your stay at the Treehotel with overnight stays in the cozy rooms of Britta’s Pensionat.

At Britta’s Pensionat, enjoy meals served by your hosts, Kent and Britta, in a unique 1930s to 1950s setting. The warm and cozy atmosphere at Britta’s, combined with the tree rooms’ contemporary design, creates a unique dimension.

If you prefer privacy, the hotel will serve your meal in the comfort of your room.

Hidden amongst the majestic trees lies a treehouse sauna! The treehouse sauna nestles in the old pine trees and can accommodate up to twelve people. If you don’t wish to climb high, there are two other saunas on the floor level as an alternative with showers and toilets. Both are available at an additional cost.

Would you like to get to know nature and the surrounding area? Then book various excursions offered by the Treehotel! You can also rent sleighs, skis, or snowshoes for a fee.
