The best time to travel to South Seas is from April to October. The temperatures reach about 29°C during the day and a pleasant 22°C to 23°C in the evening. Between November and March, it’s quite humid, and the temperatures climb up to 32°C in the day and cool down to 22°C at night. Between January and March, it’s cyclone season.

Welcome to the South Seas! When you arrive at Faa’a International Airport in Papeete, the romantic South Seas sounds and the gardenias’ sweet scent will already greet you.

A transfer will take you to your accommodation on the quaint Tahiti Iti peninsula. Tahiti consists of two islands connected by a small piece of land, the Isthmus Taravao. The larger of the two is called Tahiti Nui, and the smaller is Tahiti Iti.

Tahiti’s natural treasure is not only the picture-perfect beaches but also the lush inland landscapes. The gentle green hills, waterfalls, deep valleys, and majestic mountains aren’t what you’d expect in the South Pacific. The Orohena and the Aorai are both over 2000 meters high and offer delightful paths for every hiker. At dusk, the locals gather at the harbor’s Vaiete Square for delightful sunsets. As the sky puts on a color show, treat yourself to freshly cooked food and live music at one of the harbor’s many French Polynesian food trucks.

Raiatea is the cradle of Polynesian culture and the religious center. An array of temples and spiritual sites dot the island, including the UNESCO World Heritage Site Marae Taputapuatea open-air temple. Around 1000 BC, this temple is where heads were crowned, sacrifices were made, and the New Zealand settlement was planned. Polynesian culture considers the marae site of the highest importance; they dedicate it to Oro, the god of war and fertility.

In addition to culture, Raiatea offers a variety of water sports. Whether you’re a lover of snorkeling, diving, sailing, or kayaking, everything is possible here! Did you know that most of the flowers seen at many Bora Bora hotels are planted on Raiatea? That’s why its nickname is the Garden Island!

As you fly over your final destination, you’ll already notice that Rangiroa is an enchanting place. Discover the atolls that lie in the deep blue ocean and the colorful reefs that surround it. Do these views look like something out of a picture book? As you meander around the Rangiroa Motus, the vivacious ocean colors fade from light to dark blue. You will notice that these bright blue colors are a common theme within these islets, thus giving it the nickname “Rangiroa Blue,” and its Polynesian translation being “endless skies.”

Insider tip: Dive with black tip sharks and other marine life at the Tiputa Pass, where the lagoon joins the open sea.

For a dreamy South Seas experience, book a day trip to the Blue Lagoon. After about an hour’s boat ride, you will reach an indescribable paradise created by nature: a lagoon with a lagoon, a flawless sandy beach, coconut palms, and baby blacktip reef sharks swimming around your ankles ( don’t worry, they are completely harmless). Since the boat cannot dock in the lagoon, walk the last few meters through the water until you reach the powdered beach.

The guest house nestles on a plateau in the middle of a lush forest, right in the surfers’ paradise of Teahupoo.
