Once you wake up, your morning adventure already begins: visit the Cu Chi Tunnels.

During the Vietnam War, the Viet Cong's tunnel system stretched over 250 kilometers on three different levels. Entire cities with all kinds of facilities (e.g., hospitals, lounges, etc.) were underground and strategically linked. Today, most of the tunnels have been buried.

Your excursion will take you to one of the few accessible tunnels, which the country enlarged for tourism, and the attached museum. At 1.2 meters high and 0.8 meters wide, you will have to crouch to experience this first-hand impression of the world-famous tunnels.

Back in Saigon, embark on a tour of French Indochina’s former capital, where you will get to know the most important historical sites: Saigon’s old post house, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the old opera house. Then immerse yourself in the city’s modernity and go on a tour of the Reunification Palace, the South Vietnamese President's former independence palace from the 1960s. Before your guide leaves for the day, you will visit the Cholon Chinese quarter and the Binh Tay Market.

Travel time Saigon - Cu Chi Tunnel & Return: about 1.5 hours / approx. 60 km each way

Today, head back to the big city, then drive to Ben Tre in Mekong Delta.

Board your ship near the Phon Nam Brick Factory and sail the Chet Say, a Mekong tributary. During your tour, you will stop at various workshops to get an idea of ​​the local landscape and its inhabitants. Experience how charcoal is made from coconut shells under high heat and try the delicious fresh fruits!

Afterward, cruise along the narrow canals in your boat until you reach a small village. Visit a weaver's house and ride a bike through rice and vegetable fields. Seeing and smelling these beautiful sites must've gotten you hungry! Well, you're lucky because you will also have an exotic lunch of local delicacies, such as elephant ear fish and river shrimp.

Since the canals get increasingly narrow, you will hop into a sampan, a small rowing boat used as a houseboat in Vietnam. Finally, continue your journey to Can Tho.

One night with breakfast in Can To, Vietnam

Early in the morning, explore the Cai Rang floating market from your traditional longboat. This experience is an absolute must because it’s one of the most beautiful markets of its kind in the entire Mekong Delta! Watch the locals as they trade exotic goods from boat to boat. And if you want, you can even try haggling with the help of your tour guide. Get some fresh fruit for your journey home! Later on, your transfer will take you back to Ho Chi Mini City, where you will either continue your journey in Vietnam or hop onto your flight home.
